Sponsor Spotlight: Parmalat

Adelaide Comets Football Club is supported by many businesses throughout South Australia, covering a variety of industries and services.

For our latest Sponsor Spotlight, we spoke with Parmalat State Sales Manager for SA/NT, Craig Woodlands.

How did you become involved with Adelaide Comets Football Club? How long has Parmalat been involved with Comets?

From a business perspective this is the 1st season Parmalat has sponsored the Comets. A bit closer to home, my son Alex is the senior Goalkeeper in his second season with the Club after spending 4 years within the Adelaide United Youth set-up.

Alex is also the current junior Goalkeeping Coach and started his soccer journey at the Comets as a 10 year old. Alex & Peter Kopsafitis (current Comets player) were members of the U/12 FFSA JPL Cup team in 2009 that prevailed over Campbelltown 2 – 1 at Hindmarsh … a great day!

What is Parmalat?

Parmalat is a national dairy company with a long and proud history in Australia and are a part of a global dairy organization that brings nutrition and wellness to people all over the world.

Parmalat continue to invest and expand in Australia, setting the benchmark for the dairy industry locally and playing an ever-increasing role in the export of dairy products into Asia.

In April this year, Parmalat announced a $12m investment in our Clarence Gardens manufacturing site, taking the total investment in Clarence to $30 million since 2011. For those that were not aware, the Clarence Gardens site employs 120 people and supports SA farmers.

How can the Adelaide Comets community support Parmalat?

Simply, buy and enjoy the world class Brands that are supporting your Club: Pauls, Ice Break, vaalia, OAK, Tamar Valley, President, Galbani & Lemnos.

All are readily available in our major food retailers, however, if you cannot find your favourite Parmalat product, speak to the store manager so they can get it in for you!

Why do you support Adelaide Comets as a club?

What I admire about the Comets is that it is run by a group of volunteers that selflessly give up their time for the benefit of their players. This is as true today as it was 10 years ago when Alex first donned the “black & blue” as a 10 year old!

Across all of the grades, the players are lucky to have such a dedicated committee & coaching team behind them.

From a sponsors point of view, the Comets embodies the values that we all respect and admire … Honesty, Integrity, Personality & Passion.

Wishing all teams a strong finish to the year and the ultimate success if they are fortunate enough to make it to the finals.
